Cinnamon Swirl Quick Bread
This bread is dangerously easy to make! It takes just a few minutes to put together and then the oven does all of the hard work. It is sweet and has the right amount of cinnamon. I loved making this and I will be sure to make it again! Just one small tip, wait until the bread has completely cooled before slicing it!
Cinnamon Swirl Quick Bread
Makes: One loaf
Ingredients:
For the bread:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup whole milk
¼ cup canola oil
For the cinnamon swirl
½ cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
For the glaze
½ cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 tablespoon milk
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9’’x5’’ loaf pan and line with parchment*. In a large bowl, which together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and oil. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined (this can easily be overmixed, so be sure to stop once combined).
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the cinnamon swirl.
Pour half of the bread batter into the loaf pan. Spread half of the cinnamon swirl mix on top. Follow that with the remainder of the bread batter and the rest of the cinnamon swirl mix.
Using a butter knife, carefully and slowly drag the knife through the bread to make swirls. This will need to be done several times to achieve the swirl in the center.
Bake for 45-50 minutes (until a toothpick comes out clean in the center). Cool for about 10 minutes in the pan and then remove and continue to cool on a wire rack.
Once the bread is at room temperature, combine the ingredients for the glaze. Use more or less milk depending on the consistency. Drizzle over the bread. Enjoy!
*I chose to line with parchment to make it easy to get out of the loaf pan.
