Broiled Brussel Sprouts (From The Buddhist Chef)

I like Brussel sprouts, but I have never really given Brussel sprouts a try until this recipe for broiled Brussel sprouts. This recipe has the perfect combination of sweet and salt with the most perfect texture from the Brussel sprouts.

I started by boiling my Brussel sprouts for about 3 minutes. I drained them and left them in the strainer for a few minutes to start to dry. I halved the brussels sprouts and put them on a baking sheet. I tossed them with some oil and put them under the broiler for about 3 minutes and then I flipped them for another 3 minutes. My oven is a little different so I had to do each side for a few additional minutes (totaling about 9-12 minutes under the broiler). While that was in the oven, I began mixing together the sauce. In a small pot, I heated some oil over medium heat. I added in some green onions and I let it cook until they were soft. I added some soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Once the Brussel sprouts came out of the oven, I transferred them to a serving plate and drizzled them with the sauce.

This was the best recipe for Brussel sprouts ever! The sauce was so delicious and had the perfect amount of sweetness! My husband and I enjoyed every last bite of the Brussel sprouts. I know I will be making this side dish again!
