Pesto Filled Bread

I have been thinking about making a filled bread for weeks! It just so happened that I had basil in the fridge that I needed to use, so I thought about making a pesto filled bread! I am so happy with how the bread tastes and how the bread looks! I will link down below the recipe that I used.

I started by making the pesto so that it could sit in the fridge while the bread was rising. I processed together basil, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts, salt, and parmesan cheese. Then, I made the bread and let it rise. After it was doubled in size, I rolled the dough out to a large rectangle and spread the pesto in an even layer on the dough. I rolled the dough up and cut it down the middle. I braided the two halves together and shaped them into a circle. The recipe was for a wreath, but I liked the idea of what I did better. I think either shape would work nicely!

I highly recommend trying this for yourself! This was easy to do, delicious, and it turned out so pretty!
