Brioche (Beautiful, Buttery Bread)
The idea of adding lots of butter into a bread is so exciting to me. Brioche is a bread that has lots of butter added to the dough. The flavor of brioche is just unmatched! I was looking through a few different cookbooks and I settled on trying the recipe in the Flour, too book by Joanne Cheng. I was very happy with the result and I cannot wait to make this brioche again!
The bread called for flour, yeast, salt, sugar, eggs, and butter. I made the dough one evening so I could plan on proving it while I was sleeping. I let it proof in the fridge for about 8 hours before shaping it the following morning. I placed it into a loaf tin and let it proof for another four hours. I put the bread in the oven to bake and let it cool slightly before digging into it. The bread was light and flaky. I was so very happy with it!
I would love to try making brioche rolls or making brioche with different flavors in it. I think it would be fun to try a brioche bread with a swirl of cinnamon sugar in the center. I would also love to try adding apples with cinnamon too!
