Reel: Snickers Baked Oats
Baked oats are one of my favorite breakfast foods. I love being able to wake up in the morning and heat up some already made oats. This version of the baked oats was inspired by a snickers bar. I used peanut butter, peanuts, and chocolate chunks to get the same flavor profile.
Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1 tbsp flax seeds (ground is better, but whole seeds work fine. Can use chia as well)
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup maple syrup (plus more to drizzle on top if desired)
⅓ cup peanut butter
½ cup chocolate chips (dairy or non-dairy)
⅓ cup peanuts
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Grease a 9x9 pan.
In a bowl, mix together the oats, flax, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, vanilla, maple syrup, and peanut butter. Combine the two together. Add in the chocolate chips and peanuts.
Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 40 minutes. Once out of the oven, I added a few more chocolate chips and peanuts on top. Let cool for five minutes before serving!
