Ciabatta (Paul Hollywood’s Ciabatta)
I have been very inspired by The Great British BakingOff. I have watched the first season on Netflix as well as I have been watching The Great British Baking Off Masterclass. While I was watching one of the masterclasses, Paul Hollywood was demonstrating how to make ciabatta and the idea just hit me. My idea was to get up and make it myself. I quickly googled the recipe and began making the bread!
The bread calls for bread flour, salt, yeast, and water. It is also necessary to use a large square container to help with the shape of the ciabatta. I am going to include the link below because the recipe does a better job of explaining how to make it than I would. The recipe creates a wet dough that must be taken care of with great caution. Like any recipe, adding too much flour would harm the final product. While I was making the bread, I was very cautious and used exactly the measurements that Paul provided.
I was very happy with my final product the second time I made the bread. The first time that I made ciabatta I did not have a square container so that shape was not right. I borrowed (or rather stole, but she doesn’t know that yet) a square container from my mom and it improved the shape. I really love making bread and this recipe created a delicious bread! I think I may have to make it a lot more!
