Wyse Guide Homemade Christmas Caramels
Christmas came and went way too quickly for me! I spent a couple days in the kitchen just cooking and baking. I absolutely loved spending that much time in the kitchen! One thing that I really wanted to try making was my own homemade caramels. I came across this recipe from Kaleab Wyse (from Wyse Guide) and knew I needed to make it. I love his content and knew this would be a great recipe!
I suggest that you follow his recipe very closely. He does a great job of explaining how to make these caramels. The only thing that I would change is that the recipe suggests waiting 30 minutes before sprinkling the sea salt on the caramels to make them salted caramels. Next time, I would wait about 5 minutes after pouring the caramel in the pan so that the salt sticks to the caramel better. I know I also did not add enough salt. The pieces with enough salt were just to die for! I think this might become an annual Christmas treat to make!
Taste: 10/10
Level of difficulty: 2/5--Candy thermometer is a must and you must watch it carefully.
Notes for next time: I need to add just a bit more salt next time.
