Bagels (Homemade, Easy, and Delicious!)
Growing up, I remember that my mom would make bagels often. I love bagels! They are so delicious and apparently easy to make. I called up my mom and asked her to teach me how to make the bagels that I remember as a kid. Of course, she said yes!
Basically, we started by making the dough. The dough is flour, water, yeast, sugar, and salt. We let the dough rest. After the dough rested for an hour, we cut it into even pieces, shaped them into balls, and shaped them into the shape of a bagel. We popped them into boiling water for 30 seconds on each side and placed them on a baking tray. We baked them for about ten minutes and they were ready! These bagels are so easy and delicious! One thing that I love about them is that you can add any topping. We made some with everything bagel seasoning, some with minced onion, and some with just salt. I would love to try making ones with blueberries, making a cinnamon raisin version, or even making a rainbow bagel!
The best part about the whole process to me was that I got to spend time with my mom learning how to make something new. I love learning from her. She is such an incredible and talented home cook! I have so much to learn from her and I am going to cease every opportunity to learn what I can!
Taste: 10/10!
Notes for next time: Bagels are one of my favorite breakfast foods!
