Cut Out Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting (Don’t forget to leave some out for Santa!)

I can keep making and making cookies all throughout December and never stop. One cookie that I must make to keep the tradition is a classic cut out cookie with cream cheese frosting. My mom gave me her recipe and I will never vere from it! It is the perfect cookie recipe and the perfect frosting recipe that combines to give an unbeatable cookie. While I was making these cookies, I thought of my mom the whole time. I remember helping make these cookies as a kid. I may have eaten more than I helped frost and I am not ashamed to admit that!

The cookies call for butter, powdered sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. The frosting uses cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar. I do let the dough rest overnight before making the cookies. When the dough is cool, it helps the cookies keep their shape. I love making these cookies for many different reasons. I think the best part is picking out which cookie cutters that you want to use. I used cookie cutters shaped like candy canes, Santa's hat, angles, circles, and more! I also love taking the time to frost them and put sprinkles on them! I wanted to use different colored frosting, but I could not find food coloring so I stuck to white frosting with sprinkles.

These are super delicious cookies that you need to have more than just two!
