Chocolate Chip Cookies (Yes! Yes! Yes!)
I have said this a million times and I am willing to say it a million more. There is nothing better than a classic chocolate chip cookie that has some crunch, some softness, and a beautiful amount of chocolate. Okay, my rant is over about my affinity for chocolate chip cookies. Anyway, the reason that I am posting about chocolate chip cookies is because I heard that yesterday (December 5th) is national cookie day! It was quite late when I realized that it was this beautiful holiday so I immediately went into the kitchen and made cookies!
I decided to go with a simple chocolate chip cookie because I wanted to make something that was quick, simple, and delicious. I have this cookbook by America’s Test Kitchen that is called The Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook and they have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies! This is perfect for a few reasons. My husband and I don’t really need two dozen cookies to ourselves and the directions were super easy.
I felt that the recipe was a very standard recipe using flour, baking soda, salt, butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, egg, and chocolate chips. The results were incredible! There was just something absolutely perfect about the crunchy edges and soft middle part. The chocolate chips (I used a mixture of chocolate chunks and butterscotch chips) were perfect. I enjoyed these cookies with a small glass of almond milk and it really made my night.
I have always wanted to do a compare for chocolate chip cookies. I am out there to find the best recipe for a chocolate chip cookie. If you have a good one that you think would qualify as the best, send it my way. I think I am going to make a few recipes at the same time and see which one is best!
Taste: 10/10!
Level of difficulty: 1/5--These were so easy!
Notes for next time: I would like to try topping these cookies with a bit of flakey salt next time!
