Whole-Wheat Pizza Dough (Recipe #112)
Having a good pizza dough is essential to making a good pizza. This whole-wheat pizza dough recipe creates a light, airy pizza dough that is perfect for a thin crust pizza. The dough has the perfect texture and taste!
I was a little worried while I was making the dough because it was very sticky. The recipe called for a mixture of whole-wheat flour, bread flour, sugar, yeast, ice water, oil, and salt. The introduction to the recipe explains that a dough just made with whole-wheat flour would be too dense, so that is why it requires the addition of bread flour to make it lighter. While I was processing the dough in the food processor, I should have added more flour to create a softer dough. This time it turned out well, but the dough was sticky so it was a little harder to work with. Whole-wheat flour does have its own unique taste. I did enjoy this as a pizza dough, but I would like to make sure that I added enough flour in the beginning so it wouldn't be as sticky.
Taste: 9/10
Level of difficulty: 1/5
Notes for next time: Add a little more flour than what is called for in the recipe.
