Citrus Sauce (Recipe #62)
For dinner, I planned on making the brown sushi rice bowl with tofu and vegetables. This recipe called for 1 recipe of citrus sauce. This citrus sauce was very easy to put together and it went very well with the sushi bowl. I started by bringing some rice vinegar, mirin, and sugar to a boil. I removed it from the heat and stirred in the remainder of ingredients--soy sauce, ginger, orange zest/juice, lime and zest/juice. That was it! This sauce had a nice balance of savoriness, sweetness, and a kick of acidity. I think this could be a nice addition to dishes where you would traditionally use soy sauce to give the dish additional flavor.
