Le Pain au Chocolat (The Chocolate Croissant)

During the week, Chef Camille Le Caer was offering an online zoom class to teach croissants and chocolate croissants. I am so glad that I took this opportunity to learn from him. Before the class, he sent us a list of ingredients that we were required to have on hand. It was a two day class. The first class was all about making the dough. The second class was all about shaping and folding the croissants.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to be able to learn how to make croissants from my own home! It was so cool that Chef Camille was able to offer a zoom class to show us how to bake. Cooking and baking over zoom are a little difficult just because the picture of the camera can’t show everything and sometimes it is a little hard to hear. Overall, it was a really great and positive experience. I would love to take one of his zoom classes again!

I encourage you to seek out doing something that you enjoy in your free time. It can be anything! I think finding something to do everyday that gives us joy and happiness is simply part of being human. I just love cooking (pretty obvious, right?), but there are a million other things that you could do to bring happiness into your heart. It could be something as simple as taking a walk or something as complicated as you can imagine. I think having a “passion project” is important to every person because, to me, it helps bring joy. Taking this croissant class was one of those examples where I took a little extra time for myself this week and it brought me so much joy!

Taste: These were delicious, but I feel I had a few technical errors.

Notes for next time: I just need to keep practicing!
