Green Smoothie (Recipe #26)

        Smoothies! Smoothies are such a trend! I am not going to lie--I was a little worried about how a green smoothie would taste. I like everything that goes into it, but I was hesitant to taste how it would be blended together. I am surprised how good this recipe was! I will be making it again!

This recipe calls for kale (I used spinach because that was what I had on hand), frozen pineapple, water, banana, pineapple juice (I used orange juice), avocado, hemp seed hearts, and salt. I put it all in my blender, hit the smoothie setting, and let it go. This recipe made two servings so I split the smoothie between two glasses for me and Jacob. I grabbed my reusable straws and started drinking. I was pleased with the fact that the first taste I noticed was banana. I also noticed hints of pineapple and orange, but I did not notice the specific taste of spinach!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I like to have a good healthy breakfast that sets up my day. I have never used a smoothie as my breakfast and I can say that I will be making smoothies a regular breakfast choice. It was easy to make, good to taste, and healthy!



Taste: 10/10

Level of difficulty: 1/5--easy and quick! Great for the morning!

Notes for next time: I would like to try it with kale!
